May I remind you that HD-DVD came out first before Blu-ray. Then Sony came out with Blu-ray much later in the game. Sony knew it had to play catch up, so it came up with a "brilliant" (and, in essence, very anti-competitive) plan to overtake HD-DVD: by making "alliance" with other studios (Disney, Fox, MGM), by limiting consumer choices to Blu-ray, so consumers will have no choice but to buy Blu-ray if they want certain movies.

So. This whole format war i...

My backlash is against Sony.

May I remind you that HD-DVD came out first, and then Sony came out with Blu-ray and tried to take over. My backlash is against Sony, Fox, Disney, and MGM that tried to use an oligopolistic business practice to force consumer adoption.

In Paramount's case, it's more like tit for tat. It's Sony who came in with Blu-ray much later than HD-DVD and thought it could force consumers to adopt one format by making "alliance" with ...

... and if only other directors and producers at Disney, Fox and MGM would care as much about having "as many people as possible to enjoy their movies."

Maybe it's Disney, Fox and MGM that should also give up supporting one format over the other along with Paramount and Universal.

My prediction: in the end, it'll have to be the GOVERNMENT that steps in and slaps all those studios and tells them to stop doing whatever they're doing.

Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, The Elder Scroll series, Fallout, the original Baldur's Gate series, Ultima series, etc.

REAL customizable characters. Open-ended gameplay. Real moral choices and decisions that impact the game worlds. NPCs that can make realistic dialogs and offer simulated interaction instead of spitting out simple one-liners.

You know, RPGs that put real substance and gameplay over cheap sentimentalism. Unlike some RPGs that are no...

EA is nice but not essential to Xbox 360. EA is a nice bonus.

Now, Bungie (Halo) and Bioware (Western RPG). Those two are the essentials. They are the bread and butter of the Xbox systems.

Especially Bioware, which has stayed steadfast loyal to Xbox through thick and thin, even back when Xbox was nothing, even as they're just a second-party developer for Microsoft. Bioware has NEVER made a game that did not won all the major "Games of the Year" awar...

For EA, it's all about the user base and profit margin. Why should EA be Sony's lapdog when PS3 does not have a large enough user base to deliver the profit margin at the moment?

EA is loyalty to one thing only: profit margin, and EA is not on Microsoft's or Sony's side. It's neither Microsoft's or Sony's lapdog. It's loyalty to profit -- and that's how a corporation and company should act, in the best interest of its shareholders.

If PS3 catches up and have ...

Now this is just tasteless. All the despicable Sony fangirls launch a smear campaign and personal attack on a reviewer just because he has worked for OXM? It's a JOB. It has absolutely no bearing on his reviews unless you have proof that he is biased or accepted bribe from Microsoft.

For these despicable, disgusting, classless Sony fangirls to attack a reviewer and suggest that he might have taken bride is simply because he gave a low score for a PS3 game is just... LOW. Th...

I was a PC gamer who DESPISE console gaming, and the ONLY reason why I become a console/Xbox gamer is because PC gaming is dying -- there just isn't enough good games for PC nowadays. Other than MMO, FPS and RTS, (none of which I like,) all other genres are either dead (like adventure game) have migrated over to console (like Western RPG and action-adventure.)

I am basically a refugee from PC gaming. If everything is on PC game, I will stay away from Xbox altogether.

XBLA is doing pretty good. id, EA and Ubisoft have all recently praised XBLA after their XBLA games sold better than they had expected, and they are preparing to roll out more XBLA games.

I'd say XBLA is a selling point of 360 for casual gamers. However, if you're hardcore and just want to play the latest next-gen games like BioShock and Mass Effect, then XBLA is not really for you anyway.

Hard disk space is cheap. It's much better to just buy the 20GB model, save the $50, then buy your own 100+ GB or super-sized hard drive, and then swap the hard drive yourself... unless you're so technically impaired that you don't know or don't dare to swap the hard drive yourself.

So. Next week. After the Xbox 360 price cut. What if Xbox 360 starts topping sale charts and selling out at places? Should we report, submit and approve every instance of that? If we did for PS3, why shouldn't we do the same for Xbox 360?

There are too many FPS already, and I don't see anything new or different in Coded Arms: Assault.

Unless a new FPS title can do something interesting and different like BioShock (which is now being listed as an action *RPG*), then we really don't need any more FPS.
